Top 5 High-Value Gadgets to Grab Before the Budget

1. iPhone 17 Series (The Global Flagship)

The iPhone 17 Pro and the all-new iPhone Air are the top-selling premium devices right now. Since these contain high-margin components where DRAM and storage costs are surging, they are at the highest risk for a post-budget price adjustment.

• Why Buy Now: Amazon is currently offering bank discounts of up to ₹3,000 and coupons worth ₹6,500 on these models.
• Approx Price: ₹91,249 for iPhone Air; ₹1,25,400 for iPhone 17 Pro.

2. ASUS TUF A15 (2025/2026 Edition)

Laptops have already seen price rises of 5–8% recently due to the global memory shortage. The ASUS TUF A15 with the Ryzen 7 processor is a favorite for gamers and creators, but its bill of materials is heavily dependent on imported SSDs and RAM.

• The Budget Risk: If import duties on finished IT hardware are tweaked, this laptop could easily cross the ₹80,000 mark.
• Approx Price: ₹74,990.

3. OnePlus 15 (The Performance Beast)

The OnePlus 15 is currently one of the most balanced 5G flagships in India. Notably, Amazon is offering a flat ₹4,000 bank discount on Credit Card EMI, making it a “Price Lock” favorite for Jan 31st.

• Why it’s a steal: With the “Hyper-Bull” phase in memory prices, newer batches of the OnePlus 15 could see a “shrinkflation” where brands cut corners on display or battery to maintain the price point.
• Approx Price: ₹68,999.

4. Samsung Galaxy A55 5G

The mid-premium segment is expected to be the hardest hit by inflation in 2026. The Galaxy A55 is a top seller on Amazon India because it balances premium features with a mid-range price.

• Experience: I’ve seen mid-range phones suffer the most during budget-led duty changes because their margins are thinner than flagships—brands simply have no choice but to pass the cost to you.
• Approx Price: ₹23,999.

5. Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise Cancelling Headphones

Audio products currently face a 15% import tariff, which the industry wants reduced to 10%. However, if this doesn’t happen, the weakening rupee will likely push the price of these imported units higher in February.

• Approx Price: ₹22,990.

Expert Budget Strategy: “Price Lock” vs. “Wait and Watch”

How to Secure the Best Deal in the Next 24 Hours

1. Use Amazon Pay Later: If you are short on immediate cash but want to lock in today’s price, use Amazon Pay Later or No-Cost EMI to secure the gadget before the budget speech.
2. Stack Your Coupons: Check for the ₹6,500 off coupons on iPhone models before checking out. As a result, you could save more than any potential post-budget duty cut could offer.
3. Check Exchange Values: Amazon is currently offering high exchange bonuses for old smartphones. Notably, your old phone might have its highest resale value today before the 2026 market shipment volumes drop.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: When is the Union Budget 2026?

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM IST.

Q2: Will mobile phones definitely get more expensive after the budget?

It depends on the Basic Customs Duty. While industry bodies are asking for cuts, global component shortages and a weak rupee are already forcing brands to raise prices by 4–8% regardless of the budget.

Q3: Is it better to buy a laptop today or wait?

Buy today. Memory (DRAM and NAND) prices are in a “hyper-bull” phase and are expected to rise by another 20% by June 2026. Waiting could mean paying thousands more for the same specs.

Q4: Are there any items I should NOT buy today?

Yes. You might want to wait on Electric Vehicles (EVs), Silver jewelry, and Life-saving medicines, as duties on these are expected to decrease.
